Modernisation of the tramway network - service update: changes to Tram Lines 8 and 14

Service changes affecting tram lines 8 and 14 due to scheduled infrastructure and maintenance works on the network.

 

Due to tree maintenance on Gianicolense Ring Road and Togliatti Tramway works, tram services will be modified, with further changes scheduled on selected dates later in the month. 

SERVICE DETAILS

TRAM LINE 8

On Saturday 28 February and Sunday 1 March, tree maintenance works will take place along Circonvallazione Gianicolense. As a result, service on tram line 8 will be modified.

Service Arrangements

For the entire day on the above dates, trams will be replaced by buses between Trastevere Station and Casaletto.

Regular tram service will operate between Trastevere Station and Piazza Venezia.

At Trastevere Station, trams will arrive at and depart from Piazza Flavio Biondo, in front of the station.

Replacement Bus Stops

Replacement buses will operate as follows:

  • Trastevere Station: Piazza Flavio Biondo, ATAC terminus in front of the station.
  • Circonvallazione Gianicolense: side lanes in both directions, following the route of night bus line n8.
  • Casaletto: side lane stop, as per bus line 088.

Replacement Bus Service - Line 8

On Saturday 28 February and Sunday 1 March, from 07:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the replacement Line 8 bus service will operate on a shortened route:

  • Buses will terminate at Piazza San Giovanni di Dio instead of continuing to Casaletto
  • The temporary terminus will be located on Circonvallazione Gianicolense, near Via Ferdinando Verospi (stop no. 82535)

TRAM LINE 14

Tram line 14 service operates only between Termini Station and Largo Preneste.

Between Largo Preneste and Viale Palmiro Togliatti, a replacement shuttle bus service, line 14NAV, operates.

• First and last departure from Termini Station: 5:27 a.m. - 12:05 a.m.

• First and last departure from Largo Preneste: 5:10 a.m - 12:20 a.m.

Bus line 14NAV

• First and last departure from Largo Preneste: 5:13 a.m. - 12:30 a.m.

• First and last departure from Viale Palmiro Togliatti: 4:55 a.m. - 12:00 a.m.

• Largo Preneste: Terminus area
• Via Prenestina: Tram stops
• Viale Palmiro Togliatti: Side lane near the suspended tram stops
