Annual Metrebus Roma subscribers via ATAC App

Effective from 1 January 2026


1. Introduction

Although ATAC has adopted various measures over time to improve the quality and quantity of services provided, and within the framework of the Company’s financial recovery plan, it acknowledges that during 2024 annual Metrebus Roma subscribers may have experienced disruptions of varying severity, due to delays compared with the scheduled service frequencies (available at www.atac.roma.it). For this reason, ATAC grants annual subscribers a fixed economic compensation, according to the procedures described below.


2. Compensation characteristics

  • Compensation 2024 can be requested only once.
  • Requests can be submitted exclusively through the ATAC App, after registration.
  • Customers already registered with MyATAC can access the ATAC App using the same credentials.

3. Eligibility

Compensation 2024 can be requested by Customers holding a valid annual Metrebus Roma pass, either standard or reduced:

  • at the time of registration on the ATAC App, or
  • at the time of the request, if accessing via MyATAC credentials.

4. Compensation amount

The compensation is granted as a fixed amount, according to the following criteria:

  • €5.00
    for Customers who held a valid Metrebus Roma annual pass (standard or reduced) for at least one day in 2024 (pass purchased between 2 January 2023 and 31 December 2024) without having held an annual pass in previous years.
  • €10.00
    for Customers who renewed a Metrebus Roma annual pass (standard or reduced) between 2 January 2023 and 31 December 2024, had held a pass at least once during 2021–2023, and have not previously benefited from any COVID compensation granted by ATAC.

5. Form of compensation

The compensation is issued in the form of a digital voucher, usable within one year from the date of issue for the purchase of public transport tickets, exclusively via the ATAC App.


6. Maximum annual voucher limit

The total value of vouchers that can be used annually by each Customer cannot exceed the value of the purchased annual pass (e.g., a maximum of €250 for a standard Metrebus Roma annual pass).


7. Compensation request procedure

To request compensation, the Customer must follow the procedure below:

  • 1. Registration (if not already completed)
    If the Customer is not already registered with MyATAC, they must register on the ATAC App by creating a personal profile and providing the requested information. Upon completion of registration, a digital wallet is automatically generated and linked to the Customer.
  • 2. Access the personal area of the ATAC App using your credentials.
  • 3. Submit the request:
    • From the personal menu, select the “Ristoro 2024” (“Compensation 2024”) button.
    • The Metrebus Card number must be entered in the “N° abbonamento” (“Pass Number”) field before submitting the request.
    • For first-time registration, if the Customer is not associated with any annual pass, the Metrebus Card number must be entered manually to allow verification of eligibility and the amount due.
    • Press the “Send” (“Invia”) button to submit the request.

8. Customer notifications

Upon successful submission of the request, the Customer will immediately receive confirmation of receipt via the ATAC App.

Within 30 days of submission, ATAC will carry out the necessary checks and notify the Customer of the outcome, positive or negative, via the App.


9. Compensation disbursement

If the request is approved, the voucher - €5.00 or €10.00, depending on eligibility - will be credited directly to the Customer’s personal digital wallet within the ATAC App.
