Modernisation of the Tramway Network - Service Changes during the month of April: Works affecting lines 2 - 3 - 8 - 14 and 19

Due to redevelopment works in Viale del Parco del Celio and tree maintenance activities along Via Prenestina and Viale delle Gardenie, temporary changes will be introduced to the tram network service.


Redevelopment works on Viale Parco del Celio, Acea works on Viale Liegi, and the construction site for Tram Line 10 on Viale Palmiro Togliatti: here are all the details of the affected routes, timings, and replacement stops.

  • Piazzale Flaminio, bus stop for route 490 near the tram terminus
  • Piazza della Marina: side lane, N201 bus stop
  • Piazzale delle Belle Arti: tram lane near Via Luigi Canina
  • Viale Tiziano: side lane, N201 bus stops
  • The Viale Pinturicchio stop is relocated to Lungotevere Thaon di Revel

TOWARDS PIAZZALE FLAMINIO

  • Piazza Mancini: bus terminus
  • The Via Masaccio stop is relocated to Via Flaminia, near Piazza dei Carracci
  • Via Flaminia: side lane, N201 bus stops
  • Piazza della Marina: tram lane

Mon - Sat: Replacement bus service between Porta Maggiore and Valle Giulia.
Evening replacement bus service on the entire line.

Sunday: Replacement bus service between Porta Maggiore and Valle Giulia throughout the day.

Mon - Sat:

Last tram departure from Valle Giulia towards Trastevere Station: 6:50 p.m.

Last tram departure from Trastevere Station towards Valle Giulia: 8:23 p.m.

TOWARDS VALLE GIULIA

Buses serve the same stops as the tram except:
• instead of Viale del Parco del Celio, they run via Via di San Gregorio and Via Celio Vibenna

• at Porta Maggiore, they stop on Via Eleniana before the arches

TOWARDS TRASTEVERE STATION

Buses serve the same stops as the tram except:
• at Porta Maggiore, buses stop in the side lane at the corner with Via di Porta Maggiore
• instead of Viale del Parco del Celio, they run via Via Celio Vibenna and Via di San Gregorio
• on Viale Aventino, they stop in the side lane like bus route 75
• on Viale Trastevere, from Viale Glorioso to Trastevere station, they use the side lane like night bus route N8

8 Evening replacement bus service across the entire route
• Last tram departure from Piazza Venezia to Casaletto: 7:30 p.m.
• Last tram departure from Casaletto to Piazza Venezia: 6:54 p.m.
Replacement buses serve the same stops as the tram except for:

  • Casaletto: the terminus is on the roadside at the corner with Via Ottavio Gasparri
  • Circonvallazione Gianicolense towards Piazza Venezia: up to Via Ozanam, buses run in the side lane like bus route 792
  • Piazza Venezia: the terminus is in Via degli Astalli
  • Towards Casaletto: on Viale Trastevere and Circonvallazione Gianicolense, stops are in the side lane like night bus route N8

Replacement bus service between Largo Preneste and Quarticciolo

All day
  • On Via Prenestina, bus stops are located on the tram lane between Largo Preneste and Via Giacomo Bresadola, and on the side lanes on the Via Giacomo Bresadola-Viale Palmiro Togliatti section.
  • On Viale Palmiro Togliatti, stops are on the side lanes.

Tram service is suspended between Porta Maggiore and Centocelle and replaced by buses between Porta Maggiore and Viale Giulio Cesare.

To travel between Porta Maggiore and Piazza dei Gerani, please use tram line 5

 

All day

Between Porta Maggiore and Viale Giulio Cesare buses serve the following stops:


TOWARDS VIALE GIULIO CESARE

  • at Porta Maggiore, buses terminate in the centre of the square
  • on Viale dello Scalo San Lorenzo, buses run in the side lane. From Via dei Reti to Viale delle Milizie, buses serve the tram stops

TOWARDS PORTA MAGGIORE

  • on Viale delle Milizie, buses serve the tram stops
  • at Piazza della Marina, buses stop in the side lane like night bus route N201
  • from Piazzale delle Belle Arti to Porta Maggiore, buses serve the same stops as the tram

 

Passengers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and to check for further updates before travelling.
